Jesús Sánchez
Jesús is a PhD by the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid, who has been working in the immunology and cancer fields for more than 10 years, at several research centers like CNB, CNIO and CNIC. Jesús combines his lab work with scientific communication and scientific illustration, mainly through his Immunology-in-Comics project A Lymph’s Life. This project was awarded in 2016 with the SIMO Prize to the Best Blog of Educative Resources, and has served as a platform for collaborations with the Spanish Society for Immunology, the Spanish Melanoma Group, and CRIS Cancer Foundation. With his science-comics project Jesús has participated in many events, that range from children oriented talks and workshops to scientific meetings. He also has collaborated with companies such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, GSK, Allergy Therapeutics or Rubió.
Miriam Rivera
Miriam Rivera has a Biology Human Degree (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) and a Master in Scientific, Medical and Environmental Communication (BSM-UPF). She has cooperated with Illustraciencia (International Award of Scientific Illustration), Galènia Comunicació Mèdica and Scenio, a scientific divulgation platform. She is the author of Biomiics, comics about biology subjects which she shares at miriamriig.com.
Sergio Casas
Sergio is a scientist in the Cajal Institute (CSIC) in Madrid. He obtained a PhD in Biology in the CIB-CSIC (2006). Then, he moved to the Biozentrum in the University of Helsinki, Finland to study the regulation of the Insulin Receptor. Afterwards he moved to the department of Neurology in the University of Texas, Galveston to study Alzheimer´s and prion diseases. Sergio returned to Spain in 2008 and joined the CNIO to study Cell Competition and tumor progression. Finally, he studied synapse formation in the group of Dr. Ferrús to later stablish his own group at the Cajal Institute in Madrid to study Neuron-Glia interactions in brain tumors.
Nacho Coller
Nacho works as a psychologist in Valencia with more than 20 years of experience, and he is specialized in Psychooncology, Clinical and Health Psychology, High Performance and Sports Coaching and Psychopedagogy. He combines the clinics with teaching in several MSc. at Instituto Superior de Estudios Psicológicos (ISEP) in Valencia and Madrid since 1998. In 2017, he was awarded by the digital magazine Psicología y mente as one of the 70 best psychology and neurosciences blogs in Spanish and as one of the 12 most important influencers in the field of psychology in Spain. Nacho also plays an important role in the divulgation of psychology. He gives conferences to executives, intermediate heads and workers of different companies and public institutions. He has also participated as a speaker in the TEDx Talk UPValencia 2017 and in Congreso Agora Bienestar in Madrid, 2017. He collaborates also in different media: he leads the psychology section in the program La Tarde COPE Valencia and he is a collaborator in the magazines BuenaVida, SModa (El País) and Mia, but also in the digital magazine Global Stylus.
Elisa Cuesta
Elisa holds a BSc. in Industrial Design Engineering and Product Development and a BAc. in Fine Arts both from Universidad Nebrija, Madrid. Since 2016, Elisa combines her career as freelance designer with the realization of independent art projects, covering the fields of product design, graphic and editorial design and cultural mediation. Specially interested in those projects with positive social and environmental impact and collaborative learning and creation processes, she advocates design as a process and artistic thinking as a catalyst for synergies. She is a regular collaborator of institutions such as Medialab-Prado and MADATAC (Muestra de Arte Digital Audiovisual y Tecnologías Acontemporáneas). Her projects have been part of exhibitions such as NEW-NOW (Amsterdam, 2013), I Forum UDE-Tecnun (University of Navarra, 2016), AB-OVO (Matadero Madrid, 2015) or Emerge (Ovada, Oxford, 2013).
